Welcome to Katie’s Gift Shop. As our previous customers, friends, family and facebook followers are aware, until very recently, we were “Katies Candles”, and selling Candles and related apparel only. We are currently mid-way through a transition to “Katies Gift Shop”, the place for you to go to buy gifts for friends, family and partners. This is a big project for us and a big outlay on stock so to progress will be slow. Our first step is the introduction of an underwear range, but in the future we are hoping to bring on something for him, and something for the kids as candles and underwear do lean towards the woman in your life at the moment!

Scented candles

Our range of Scented Candles will fill your home with wonderful relaxing fragrances. With over 35 different scents/types currently in stock, and with the range about to be expanded further, Katies candles is the perfect place to buy your fragranced candles. Not only are our prices some of the best on the web, we aim for our service to be second to none. Jar Candles

Jar Candles come in all shapes and sizes, with resealable lids and without. Katies Candles has a large range of stylish jar candles perfect to brighten up your home with colour, light and scent.Our most popular range of Jar Candles at the moment is Temptations Quattro's Which look really attractive and have 4 layers, each omiting a different fragrance so you'll never get bored of the smell!

Pillar Candles

We stock both scented and unscented pillar candles. Pillar candles make great ornaments around the house, and the burn time on them is huge, a small 7cm candle can last up to 40 hours! Pillar candles can drip though and damage furniture, so we always advise you use a suitable candle plate or holder. For a full range of Pillar candles click here

Oil Burners and Fragranced Oils

Oil burners are great because you can regulate the scent by adding more or less oil to the water, and they are really cost effective as you only use a drop of oil and that lasts for hours. At 80p per bottle you cannot get any better. Our favorite scented oil is the Orange and Cinnamon and I actually have it on the go whilst typing this web page!

Payments

For payments we are currently using PAYPAL, as this gives our customers peace of mind. Don't worry though, you don't need a paypal account to pay via paypal, simply click the option on the left hand side of the paypal payment screen to pay without creating an account. If you are collecting from us, you can pay on collection.

About Katies Candles

Katies Candles is run by me, Katie Fey. I am a "stay at home" mum as I feel it is important to concentrate on bringing up my daughter so haven't returned to full time employment. I've always loved Candles and have them burning in the house most of the year.

My husband (Jordan Fey) is a keen web developer and owns Pegasus Support Services , therefore he constructed this site for me.

Different Candle Types

There are 3 main types of candles, Paraffin, Soy and Bees wax.

Soy Wax candles have a lower melting point, so are often in containers rather than pillar candles, however when mixed with additives they can be made into traditional pillars. The advantage to Soy wax is that it is made from the oil of soybeans meaning it is completely renewable.

Beeswax candles have a high melting point, and burn cleaner with little smoke and very low dripping. The wax itself is a by-product of hone collecting, but beeswax candles are often quite expensive.

Most modern candles are Paraffin based. Paraffin is a byproduct of petroleum refining process.
